Stoke City loanee Lee Hendrie has been backed by Potters boss Tony Pulis after coming under fire during the 3-0 defeat at Colchester United.
The Aston Villa midfielder was accused of showing disrespect to several U's players, but Pulis has rejected those allegations.
He told The Sentinel: "Lee has been absolutely fantastic for us, on and off the field.
"He's a gem of a kid, but he's going to have to accept there will be people who see that by winding him up, or feeding off him, they can get publicity for themselves.
"He's just got to be careful he doesn't get embroiled with those who get their one minute of glory by spouting off about him."
