Pulis plans for Sidibe absence

Stoke City look set to be without Mamady Sidibe for the last two months of the season after the striker opted to have surgery on his injured knee.

Potters boss Tony Pulis left the decision on whether an operation was required to the Mali international who has struggled with a cruciate knee ligament problem for the last four months.

"Mama feels there's a weakness in the knee joint that's he obviously not happy with," said Pulis.

"He hasn't felt fully right in the games he's played since coming back from his last injury to the knee.

"That will trouble him because Mama is one of those who always wants to give you 100 per cent.

"I think everyone following us this season has seen the way Mama has stepped up to the challenge of the Premier League.

"He gives us something different and will be a big miss, but not an insurmountable one."
