Pulis hopes to sign quartet
31 Aug 2009 - 17:06:45
Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has targeted four new arrivals before the transfer window closes on Tuesday afternoon.
There had been little transfer activity at the Britannia Stadium since the end of last season until the Potters manager swooped to sign Middlesbrough duo Tuncay and Robert Huth.
He now hopes to tie up the signings of Uruguay international Diego Arismendi, Sunderland defender Danny Collins and two more unnamed players.
Midfielder Arismendi watched Saturday's win over the Black Cats, with Pulis saying of his targets: "I'm still looking to improve every department of the team.
"I want another quality midfielder, another forward, a wide player and a defender.
"Huth and Tuncay will have to learn the way we do things and our work ethic, but it was nice to get them on the field at the end there.
"Tuncay gives us something different in the squad and I'm hoping he will bring a bit more quality to the final third.
"If we keep Huth fit, we have a very good defender on our hands and he could be selected for the German national team. Imagine that, a Stoke player playing for Germany at the World Cup next summer."
