Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has dropped a strong hint that he will be back in for Cardiff City's Joe Ledley in the summer.
The 22-year-old Wales international was the subject of an unsuccessful bid from the Potters following their promotion to the Premier League last year.
However, Pulis remains an admirer of the talented midfielder, who might look to move on himself after Cardiff failed to win promotion from the Championship this season.
"We came in and made an offer and we thought it was a great offer for Joe," Pulis told the South Wales Echo.
"But Cardiff did not want to sell him and credit to (manager) Dave (Jones) and (chairman) Peter (Ridsdale) for that.
"They felt he was important to Cardiff and we had to live with that.
"We did feel it was a fantastic offer at the time for the kid and we were very disappointed that we were not successful.
"If I am going to do any business with Cardiff this summer I will be doing it with Dave and Peter. I won't be doing things through the newspapers.
"But we will take another look at it and if it feels right for us then I will be speaking to Dave about it before anyone else."
