Pulis hails first-class Stoke
11 Jan 2009 - 11:30:49
Stoke City manager Tony Pulis praised the "first-class" commitment of his side after they held Liverpool to a draw for the second time this season.
The Potters rode their luck as the league leading visitors twice hit the woodwork in the goalless draw at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday evening.
But Stoke had chances of their own - most notably when Rory Delap rattled the crossbar in the first half - before securing a hard-fought point.
The two sides also drew 0-0 at Anfield back in September.
"I'm very, very pleased with the players. The effort and commitment was first-class and we created quite a few good chances as well," claimed Pulis.
The Potters moved out of the bottom three on the back of the draw and with just five points now separating the bottom ten teams, Pulis is anticipating an exciting battle for Premier League survival.
"We're very pleased that so many clubs are involved," he added.
"It makes it really exciting for everybody else."
