Pulis bears no grudge
28 Feb 2007 - 13:23:16
Stoke City manager Tony Pulis insists he has no problems with Charlton's decision to recall on-loan defender Jonathan Fortune.
Fortune made four appearances for the Potters after arriving at the Britannia Stadium on loan on January 31.
But Addicks boss Alan Pardew has decided to recall the central defender after losing Souleymane Diawara, Hermann Hreidarsson and Madjid Bougherra to suspension for Saturday's trip to Watford.
"I knew this day could come because there was the recall option after one month if Charlton needed it," Pulis told the Stoke Sentinel.
"Alan (Pardew) apologised, but said he had no option. These are important days for Charlton, of course, so they aren't going to take risks when they can recall a player of Jonathan's ability.
"I felt he did really well during his short time with us, but his departure shows how important it was to bring in Gaby Zakuani on loan from Fulham as well."
