Pulis aims fire at Safri
19 Mar 2007 - 11:41:30
Stoke City boss Tony Pulis slammed Norwich City midfielder Youssef Safri for his part in the sending-off of Potters defender Andy Griffin at the weekend.
Griffin was shown a straight red card for a clash with Safri six minutes from time in Stoke's 1-0 reverse at Carrow Road.
A furious Pulis told The Sentinel: "We'll be appealing because we think Andy played the ball.
"But the really disappointing thing is the fact Safri stayed down as if he was dead. It's a con really because he's sprinting across the pitch a couple of minutes later.
"They're supposed to be players in the same union, but when he's allowed back on the pitch he's sprinting across to take a free-kick.
"That's how bad a challenge it was and that's how badly injured he was."
