Pugh voices loan hope

Stoke City midfielder Danny Pugh is keen to leave the club on loan after growing increasingly frustrated with a lack of first-team chances under Tony Pulis.

The 26-year-old former Manchester United, Preston and Leeds player has failed to start a Premier League game so far this term although he has featured in the Carling Cup games against Leyton Orient and Blackpool.

The Potters star said: "It hasn't been the best for me this season. I've either been in the stands, or on the bench in the league games, which is frustrating.

"I'm at an age where I need to play football, but at the moment that isn't happening, apart from the cup games.

"Last season I was getting in the team a bit more, but it's not really happened this season. I've just been on for five minutes here or ten minutes there in the league.

"It's nice to get cup games under your belt, but you need more than Carling Cup and reserve games."
