Stoke City have won the race to sign out of favour Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie on loan.
The 29-year-old has had just seven minutes of first-team action this season, having started only seven Premiership games last term.
Martin O'Neill, who took charge at Villa Park in the summer, is keen to see what Hendrie has to offer and agreed to allow him to go out on loan to work on his match fitness.
Crystal Palace and QPR both expressed a firm interest in the one-time England international, but he eventually opted to join Stoke City's battle to climb out of the Championship relegation zone.
