Potters warned to fight on

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has warned his players not to let up in the closing weeks of the Premier League season.

With £750,000 up for grabs for every place higher the Potters can finish in the table, Pulis is adamant that his side will give their all.

He told The Sentinel: "That is a lot of money in anyone's language and it should act as a big motivation for us all.

"It certainly does for me, because of the responsibility I feel towards (chairman) Peter Coates and his family for the millions they've ploughed into this football club.

"I'll certainly be getting that point over to the players, because we have a responsibility financially to the club's owners, as well as a responsibility to our supporters of course.

"There is a big matter of pride left for us now, because I'm sure players and fans alike would love to get past the 45 points we got last year.

"I don't like it when people say teams have downed tools because they are safe in mid-table.

"The lads have a responsibility to keep going. We have targets in place and we're all desperate to meet those."
