Potters tie up Huth signing
27 Aug 2009 - 18:59:53
Stoke City have completed the £5million signing of Middlesbrough's Germany defender Robert Huth.
The 25-year-old moves to the Britannia Stadium in a deal which could eventually cost the Potters a club record £6million, with Huth having spent three seasons with Boro following a move from Chelsea.
City chief executive Tony Scholes told the club's official website: "Our manager, Tony Pulis, has been looking to strengthen the squad with the intention of taking us to an even higher level.
"We achieved a magnificent twelfth place in the Premier League last season and we are confident that Robert is the type of player who can help us achieve that aim."
Huth himself added: "I am grateful to Stoke for the opportunity to play in the Premier League so soon again.
"It was really a no-brainer to come here once I found out that this club wanted to sign me."
