Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has completed the signing of Crystal Palace defender Leon Cort on an initial two-month loan agreement with a view to the signing being made permanent in January.
The 28-year-old former Hull City and Southend United star is Pulis' second signing of the week following the acquisition of Preston North End midfielder Danny Pugh.
Chief executive Tony Scholes told City's official website: "I'm delighted that the deal to bring Leon to the Potteries has now been completed.
"We were very keen to tie him up in time for the Coventry match, and we've done just that."
