Potters seal Harper deal

Thursday Sep 29 2005 11:53

Stoke City have completed the signing of Portsmouth midfielder Kevin Harper after the player passed a medical on Tuesday morning.

The 29-year-old has arrived on a free transfer and will go straight into the squad that takes on Wigan Athletic at the JJB Stadium this weekend.

Harper will link up once again with Tony Pulis, who was in charge of Pompey back in 2000, and director of football John Rudge says he is pleased with the signing.

"We are delighted to announce the news that Kevin Harper has signed for Stoke City," Rudge revealed.

"He comes here with plenty of experience and he also knows the manager Tony Pulis which is a good thing. We feel he's exactly what we've been looking for."
