19 Aug 2008 - 10:02:16
Stoke City have completed the signing of Andrew Davies after agreeing a four-year contract with the Southampton defender.
The Potters agreed an undisclosed fee with the Championship side for the 23-year-old over the weekend and Davies has now put pen to paper at the Britannia Stadium.
The former England Under-21 international began his career with Middlesbrough and made over 50 appearances for the Premier League club.
He moved onto Southampton on a permanent basis last October, where he made 25 appearances before finishing the season on the sidelines with a fractured cheekbone.
Davies also underwent knee surgery during the summer and has yet to make an appearances this season.
"Andy comes to us with considerable Premier League experience for a player of his age," chief executive Tony Scholes told the club's official website.
"He is our sixth signing of the summer and another valuable addition to Tony Pulis' squad."
