Potters busy behind scenes

Stoke City have revealed that they hope to announce several new signings shortly.

The Potters have been linked with a host of players, including Rosenborg's Vadim Demidov, Middlesbrough's Robert Huth and Swedish midfielder Andres Vasquez as they prepare for their second season in the Premier League.

Chief executive Tony Scholes has confirmed that deals are in the offing, telling the Potters' official website: "Yes, we're looking at players.

"It might be the summer but Tony (Pulis) and his team of people are still working very hard.

"There are still games that we're following and still international games that we've got scouts looking at.

"The work is being done, conversations are being held but you won't be surprised to hear me say that I won't comment on any individuals until any deals are done.

"I think it's always dangerous in any sport to rest on your laurels. You need to change things around, you need to keep things fresh and there's no doubt that Tony will be looking to improve wherever we can."
