Stoke City have strengthened their squad for the push for promotion to the Premier League with the loan signing of Middlesbrough centre-back Chris Riggott.
The 27-year-old joins the Potters until the end of the season, having fallen down the pecking order at the Riverside after a number of injury problems.
Riggott has not featured for Boro since the middle of November, with David Wheater having emerged as a first-team regular for the Teessiders.
The former England Under-21 international joined Boro in January 2003 and has made well over 100 first-team appearances since making the switch from Derby County.
Riggott had previously made exactly 100 appearances for his hometown club to emerge as one of the most promising defenders in the top-flight.
