Potters aim to keep pair
17 May 2007 - 11:15:52
Stoke City have offered new contracts to former Premiership duo Salif Diao and Dominic Matteo as manager Tony Pulis looks to build a side capable of winning promotion.
The Potters chief wants to build a side around Diao and Matteo, who both arrived at the Britannia Stadium during the past campaign.
Meanwhile, John Eustace and Russell Hoult have also been offered new deals to extend their stays with the club.
However, Kevin Harper, Keith Thomas and Robbie Duggan have all been released on free transfers along with scholars Geoff McGaw, Sean Robinson, Hayden Doyle and James Curley.
Pulis is also hoping to offload unsettled striker Sammy Bangoura, who has been on loan FC Brussels since January.
The £1million striker turned up late for pre-season training last summer and has been told he is not part of the club's long-term plans.
