Potters ace wants to stay

On loan Stoke City defender Andy Griffin has revealed he is keen to make his stay at the Britannia Stadium into a permanent one.

The 27-year-old agreed a switch from Portsmouth in September and is due to return to Fratton Park next week.

But the former Stoke trainee has revealed his desire to stay with the Championship high-flyers.

"Hopefully something can materialise in January, but that is out of my hands," Griffin told the club's official website.

"I have said in the past that I would be very happy to talk to the club about staying here permanently.

"I only live around the corner and it was always ambition as soon as I left the club that I would return here."
