Monaco doubt Olofinjana deal

Stoke City midfielder Seyi Olofinjana's projected move to Monaco appears to have collapsed at the last minute.

The Nigerian had been given permission to discuss terms with the French club after they and the Potters agreed a transfer fee which was around £2.5million.

Monaco boss Guy Lacombe believes another club has entered the fray for his signature as the 29-year-old has had a change of heart.

"We have agreed everything with the club and the player but in the last minute he does not want to come," Lacombe told Nice Matin.

"I think they have received a better offer and we don't want to agree to their desire."

Olofinjana played for Wolverhampton Wanderers before his transfer to the Britannia Stadium in July 2008.
