Lawrence pens Stoke contract
15 Jul 2009 - 12:26:59
Midfielder Liam Lawrence has signed a new four-year contract with Stoke City.
The 27-year-old midfielder has made more than 75 appearances for the Potters following a £500,000 transfer from Sunderland two years ago and is now under contract until summer 2013.
"I'm over the moon to have signed the deal," he told the club's official website.
"I always knew it would get done - there was never any question of that - and now I can concentrate on performing on the pitch.
"The club has changed so much from when I first come here, it's a different world.
"Now to know that I will be spending the best years of my career here is fantastic."
Meanwhile, Potters boss Tony Pulis has denied making an offer for Manchester City defender Richard Dunne.
The experienced Republic of Ireland international has been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs despite being the current captain of the Citizens.
"You could say it isn't exactly a Dunne deal!" quipped Pulis.
