Lawrence extends City deal

Stoke City winger Liam Lawrence has signed a one-year extension to his current contract, tying him to the Britannia Stadium club until the summer of 2012.

The 26-year-old has been a key figure in the Potters' attempts to gain promotion to the Premier League, with Lawrence having joined Stoke in November 2006 from Sunderland.

He told the club's official website: "I am absolutely delighted to have agreed a new contract here.

"I have had a fantastic time with the club and I am determined to help bring Premier League football to Stoke City.

"The fans, the city and everything about my time in Stoke has been first-class and I can't tell you how happy I am to have got the deal done."

Lawrence has scored 19 goals in 67 appearances for City to date, including 14 in the current campaign.
