Keane: Walters star of the future

Ipswich boss Roy Keane has hailed Jon Walters as a "player of Premier League quality" in the wake of reported interest from Stoke. Stoke had a £3million bid rejected for Walters in 2008 and newspaper reports claim they could be lining up another offer for the 28-year-old this summer. That speculation has arose since Potters' assistant Peter Reid was spotted at Portman Road on Sunday, although he could just have easily been checking out the highly-rated Connor Wickham. Regardless of who Reid was there to look at, Town manager Keane is confident that Walters, who scored eight goals this season, could make the grade in the top flight. "Jon deserves to be in the Premier League," said Keane. "He is a player of Premier League quality. "He has done a terrific job for me in a difficult season. He has led by example. I've got so much time for Jon."
