Injured Griffin remains upbeat
17 Apr 2008 - 10:51:07
Stoke City captain Andy Griffin is expected to miss the rest of the season after tearing a hamstring during the 2-1 victory at Coventry City.
However, the 29-year-old former Newcastle United and Portsmouth defender remains determined to help the Potters' promotion bid in any way possible.
He told the Sentinel: "It's important for me to be at the game this weekend. It just shows support and togetherness.
"There's no way I'll be feeling sorry for myself and turning up to the game five minutes before kick-off. I want to be in that dressing room shaking hands and talking to the lads.
"If I was playing, Saturday's match would be one of the biggest games of my career because of the significance with just three games of the season to go.
"I think if we can win all three games that will be enough. We can't do any more."
