Hoefkens slams rift talk

Stoke City defender Carl Hoefkens has angrily denied falling out with manager Tony Pulis during the 1-1 draw at Plymouth Argyle. The 28-year-old left the pitch at half-time, with radio reports suggesting that a dust-up with Pulis was behind Hoefkens' withdrawal. However, the Belgium international told the club's official website: "For a local radio station to make up a story to try and drive a wedge between myself, the manager and the supporters is totally unacceptable. "The reason I left the field on Saturday was due to an injury, nothing else. I am aggrieved to be used in this way."
