Griffin eyes Potters stay

Loan defender Andy Griffin has revealed that he would like to turn his move to Stoke City into a permanent switch.

The 27-year-old joined the Potters from Portsmouth on a two-month loan deal and only has a fortnight remaining, but admitted that he would relish the opportunity to stay put on a longer-term basis.

He told The Sentinel: "I don't know what kind of contract they would offer, if they offer me one, but I'd be a fool to say I wouldn't listen to anything Stoke have got to say.

"I'm enjoying myself at the moment and everyone knows I'm based in the area. And when your personal performances are alright, and the team is picking up wins, it's a good place to be and puts a smile on your face.

"It's not really in my hands though, it's down to Portsmouth and Stoke City. The manager has just said he's been happy with me since I came."
