Galatasaray hope to fend off Celtic in deal for Stoke's Abdoulaye Faye

Wanted: Faye Stoke defender Abdoulaye Faye is wanted by Turkish side Galatasaray. Manager Tony Pulis wanted the 32-year-old to stay following inquiries from Celtic last week but Galatasaray are hopeful of a deal. Stoke defender Andrew Davies, meanwhile, is keen to rejoin Middlesbrough where he has been training after being left out of Stoke's 25-man Premier League squad. Davies, 25, began his career with Boro and would relish a return to the Riverside Stadium. Stoke paid £1m to sign Davies from Southampton in August 2008 but he has only started one game for the club and made just three more substitute appearances. Davies said: 'It's just a dream come true to be back here training.'
