Fortune favours Potters
01 Feb 2007 - 10:51:59
Stoke City have signed Charlton Athletic defender Jonathan Fortune on loan until the end of the season.
The versatile 26-year-old joins the Potters as a replacement for Michael Duberry, who left the club on deadline day to link up with Premiership outfit Reading.
Fortune has slipped down the pecking order at The Valley this term, making just seven appearances in the Premiership for the Addicks.
He has been with Charlton since the summer of 1998 and has also spent two spells out on loan at Mansfield Town.
Addicks boss Alan Pardew told the club's official website: "Jon has gone to Stoke. We're well covered at centre-half now and I need him to play.
"We do have a recall option after a month and we'll see how he gets on."
