Delap pens new Potters deal

Stoke City defender Rory Delap has agreed a one-year contract extension at the Britannia Stadium.

The 33-year-old long-throw specialist is now under contract with the Potters until summer 2011.

The former Republic of Ireland international made 36 appearances and scored two goals in all competitions last season.

His throw-ins were one of Stoke's most potent attacking weapons as they finished a creditable 12th in the final Premier League table.

"I'm delighted to sign for an extra year," Delap told the club's official website.

"I said before that I'd like to stay here for as long as I can and for as long as I feel fit

"I think we exceeded everyone's expectations last year, apart from our own, and we've got to do it all again next season."
