Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has given his backing to Richard Cresswell after the striker missed a golden chance to break the deadlock in Tuesday's goalless draw with Barnsley.
The former Leeds United star contrived to miss the opportunity after being set up by Ricardo Fuller.
"Of course a player of Richard's quality should be scoring those chances," Pulis told the Sentinel.
"We're disappointed for him - no-one is more disappointed than me. But he still did brilliant for us. His effort for the team was fantastic, as it has been all season."
