Cort unsure on Potters future
07 Jul 2009 - 10:07:55
Leon Cort has admitted that he may have to leave Stoke City after growing frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities at the Britannia Stadium.
The 29-year-old defender only started nine Premier League games last season and is hoping to talk to Potters boss Tony Pulis to see if he has a future at the club.
Cort told the Sentinel: "I don't really know much at the minute, so all I can do is come back for pre-season, work hard and take it from there.
"The lads are out to do even better than last season. It will be tough because it is always harder for clubs in their second year, but we have a great set of lads at the club.
"I'd like to play a part in that. I don't like to just be playing the odd game but, at this level, there's a lot of competition at every club. But if I'm not in the manager's plans, I'd like to know as soon as possible.
"It's been fantastic at Stoke. I've learned a lot from the people coaching me and also from the other players. If I do leave in the next couple of months, I'll have had a great time here."
