Contract killer Pulis happy to roll with it at Stoke
Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has insisted he is happy with his rolling contract and has no intention of demanding a long-term deal at the Britannia Stadium. Pulis has exceeded all expectations by steering last season's Championship runners-up to Barclays Premier League safety with two games to spare and would be a popular choice for Manager of the Year. The Stoke boss hailed chairman Peter Coates and insisted both parties are happy with the arrangement. "I haven't sat down with Peter to talk fully about next season, never mind talk about any three-year contract," said Pulis. "I'm on a rolling contract as things stand and I'm quite happy with that arrangement. It suits me and seems to suit Peter that way. "I have the best chairman in the world, so I don't have to be looking over my shoulder at my contract situation all the time." Pulis also revealed that he's already begun the search for new players now that Stoke have retained their Premier League status. He added: "We've had a lot of players recommended to us, so over the next four or five weeks I'll be trying to get out there to see if they are worth following up."
