City waiting on Delap verdict

Stoke City are sweating on the fitness of long throw expert Rory Delap ahead of this weekend's Premier League clash with Fulham.

The 32-year-old Republic of Ireland international is currently having pain-killing injections to try and ease the problem, but Potters boss Tony Pulis is not too concerned about his midfielder.

He told The Sentinel: "It's a case of wait and see, but at this stage I'm not losing any sleep over Rory being available for Fulham.

"It's not really anything to do with his throws, it's just a problem causing him pain in the arm.

"It wasn't the reason I brought him off at Newcastle. That was because he was looking a bit tired and leggy by that stage of the game.

"Rory is a reliable and resilient so-and-so, as he's proved more than once in his two years with us, so he's pencilled into the squad for Fulham as we speak."
