    City earn Pulis support

    07 Nov 2007 - 11:45:11

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis was full of praise for his players after they secured a last-gasp 3-2 victory at Scunthorpe United.

Pulis accepted that his defence had struggled for much of the game and that recent loan signing Leon Cort had proved to be a crucial figure at Glanford Park.

He told The Sentinel: "Fair play to Scunthorpe because they really had a go at us.

"They had a lot of possession and got a lot of crosses in, but I thought Leon Cort was magnificent. He must have a headache with all those headers out.

"But all through the game we actually created the better chances, it's just that our inexperience was costing us at the back. They are learning as they go along at the back and so they will make mistakes.

"You get criticism for not playing youngsters, but if you do then you've got to accept they will make mistakes.

"It was great to not just get a late equaliser, but to see us go and get the winner."
