City complete Tuncay signing
28 Aug 2009 - 15:07:14
Stoke City have completed a double transfer coup by wrapping up the signing of Turkey international forward Tuncay from Middlesbrough in a £5million deal.
The 27-year-old follows former Boro colleague Robert Huth to the Britannia Stadium, having scored 18 goals in 78 appearances for the Teessiders.
City boss Tony Pulis told the club's official website: "Tuncay is an exciting player with his pace and skill who will certainly get the crowd going.
"He is also a player of international calibre and a leader of his national team."
Chief executive Tony Scholes added: "This is a fantastic transfer double for the club.
"We are delighted to bring a player of Tuncay's quality to the club because he had attracted interest from a number of big clubs, as indeed had Robert Huth.
"Therefore, this is a powerful statement of our intentions as we look to move the club forward."
