Stoke City defender Lewis Buxton is looking forward to pre-season training, having nearly recovered fully from a back problem.
Buxton made just one appearance for the Potters last season, but is hoping to make a bigger impact in the final year of his current contract with the Championship club.
He told The Sentinel: "I'm due back at the club ten days before the others, because I need to build up my sprinting to make sure I'm ready to join in with the other lads.
"I've already done a fair bit of running and there's been no reaction, it just feels a bit tight still.
"It will be a massive relief to get back training again. It's been 12 months to forget. I just want to get back out there and playing football again.
"Last season really was a nightmare. I played just the one game and was only fit for three others. I just want to put all that behind me now and push on into the future."
