Beattie 'sorry' for Pulis spat
08 Dec 2009 - 12:41:54
Stoke City striker James Beattie is reported to have apologised to manager Tony Pulis for his part in a dressing room bust-up following the 2-0 weekend defeat at Arsenal.
The pair reportedly clashed over a disagreement about the club's Christmas party, with some versions of the rumpus even suggesting that Pulis had aimed a head-butt at his player.
Pulis has since apologised to the whole of the club's playing staff for his conduct, while Beattie is reported to have followed suit, although whether he still has a future with the Potters is open to debate.
Thirty-one-year-old Beattie, who is currently being troubled by a knee injury, joined City for £3.5million from Sheffield United in January this year and has scored nine goals in 31 appearances for the Potteries outfit.
City chairman Peter Coates has refused to add to the speculation surrounding the events at the Emirates Stadium, saying: "As far as the club is concerned, this is an internal matter and will be dealt with internally."
