Bad news for Hill
25 Sep 2007 - 12:31:12
Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is devastated by the news that Clint Hill could be sidelined for the next six weeks after suffering a fractured rib in Saturday's 3-2 victory against Plymouth Argyle.
It had been thought that the defender had only suffered bad bruising, but an X-ray has confirmed the bad news.
"It's come as a bit of a shock for all of us because we thought we'd got away with it," admitted Pulis. "But we're now being told he's out for three to six weeks.
"He's a loss because you always know what you're going to get from Clint, and he's also one to gee up those around him.
"We're already short of numbers at the back and this is a setback we could have done without."
