Walter backs Jones to fire

Jon Walters has backed fellow Stoke forward Kenwyne Jones to play a key part in the remainder of the FA Cup semi-finalist's season despite his current goal drought. Jones, a £9million summer signing from Sunderland, has not scored in 13 matches but made an important contribution in the 1-1 home draw with Chelsea. The visitors central defensive pairing of John Terry and David Luiz were given a torrid time by the Trinidad and Tobago international and Walters believes that benefited his team-mates. "He is adding in other parts in a match. I think he won every header and he was a right handful," said Walters, whose goal at the Britannia Stadium at the weekend was his third in seven matches. "He is an important target man for us and does a lot for us. "Earlier in the season sometimes I wasn't getting the goals, but was still contributing to the game. Everyone will chip in."
