Tigers snare Sonko

Hull City have completed the signing of Ibrahima Sonko on a season-long loan deal from Stoke. The Senegal international only joined the Potters from Reading last summer, but has been allowed to seal a switch to the KC Stadium. He made 14 appearances for Stoke in their debut Premier League campaign last term and can also boast top-flight experience from his time with the Royals. He has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Britannia Stadium after Tony Pulis swooped for Danny Collins on transfer deadline day. Hull were in the market for a defender following their sale of Michael Turner to Sunderland. They had been linked with a swoop for West Brom centre-half Abdoulaye Meite, but having secured a deal for Sonko they have ended their interest in the Baggies ace.
