At first glance the defender appeared to have secured his side, who had been reduced to ten men, a well-earned victory when he found the corner of the net from Rory Delap's long throw in the final seconds with the score 1-1.[LNB]However, Wiley saw contact with Shay Given - he was the only one who did - and ruled that Shawcross' finish was illegal, therefore disallowing the goal.[LNB]Everton manager David Moyes is finding it diffcult to respect the FAs decisionsNaturally, it left Stoke City manager Tony Pulis spitting in his post match press conference, making oblique references to 'outside influences' ruining the game, and demanding 'parity', before walking out when asked to give specifics.[LNB]No matter: those came from the 22 year-old centre-half. 'The ref thought I had fouled the keeper, but I didn't think so - and having seen it since, I still don't think I did," he said. "I've got a good leap and I timed it well. I got above the keeper and just nodded it into the goal and thought I had scored.[LNB]'I asked the referee about it at the end and he said 'you can't challenge the keeper in the six-yard box'. That is a bit silly, because if I am jumping higher than him then I am not going to challenge him.'[LNB]It was especially unfortunate for the former Manchester United trainee, for it was his mistake from which Manchester City scored in the 1-1 draw at Eastlands in the FA Cup fifth-round tie on Saturday.[LNB]The defender slipped as he was in the process of a crucial clearance, allowing Shaun Wright-Phillips to score, and all with England manager Fabio Capello in the crowd watching.[LNB]'That happens,' Shawcross said. 'If I carry on performing well, then one day I might get a chance, but my main aim is to play well for Stoke. I was quite pleased with how I reacted after the error. It was a massive mistake, and the lads have taken the mickey a lot, but I was happy with my performance here.'[LNB]
