Hibernian striker Anthony Stokes will face a Scottish Football Association disciplinary hearing over his tackle on Celtic's Landry NGuemo, it was confirmed on Thursday.

The SFA's video review panel have decided Stokes, 21, does have a case to answer for the challenge during Hibs' 3-2 Clydesdale Bank Premier League defeat at Parkhead almost two weeks ago.

The incident was referred to a three-man panel after being missed by match referee Stephen Finnie.

If found guilty at the May 11 hearing, Stokes could be suspended for the first two matches of next season.

An automatic one-match ban would be accompanied by 12 points that would take him over the disciplinary threshold.
