Stoke striker Mamady Sidibe wants to play as Sheffield Wednesday loan nears end

Mamady Sidibe is not ruling out extending his loan stay at Sheffield Wednesday, if he is not going to be playing regular football back at Stoke City. The striker has scored once in eight appearances for the Owls since joining in November and has not played a first-team game for Stoke since August 2010 due to injury. His initial spell at Hillsborough expires in a week's time and the 33-year-old is simply determined to play football following a torrid time with injuries. "Of course, I need to play; I have been working hard to get back my fitness and also get back in the squad at Stoke," said Sidibe in the Sheffield Star. "If I can't be in the squad there, I need to play; I have been out too long to sit watching games. "All the work I have done has been to get back in the squad at Stoke, but if there is no room for me there, I need to play. "I don't know what is going to happen. I am here on loan and am doing my best. The future is not in my hands really. "The only thing I can do is to play and give my best for Sheffield Wednesday while I am here."
