Stoke slap £2m price tag on Lawrence

Stoke are holding out for closer to £2million for Liam Lawrence after rejecting a bid of around £1.5million from Celtic for the Ireland winger.[LNB] Lawrence looks certain to leave the Britannia Stadium this summer - he has already expressed his desire to move on - and Celtic are the first club to make their move.[LNB]Lawrence made just 14 Premier League starts for the Potters last season but put in some impressive performances for the Republic of Ireland to catch the eye of Neil Lennon, who is set to be confirmed as Celtic's permanent manager later this week.[LNB]The Hoops were widely reported to have made a bid of around £1.5million for Lawrence last week and the Stoke Sentinel now claims representatives of the two clubs have met in a bid to thrash out a deal.[LNB]Stoke are said to be looking for close to £2million for the 28-year-old, who has made 125 appearances for the club since a £500,000 move from Sunderland in the autumn of 2006.[LNB]Another player likely to be on the move this summer is Andy Griffin, who is now attracting interest from Cardiff City as well as Reading, with whom he spent time on loan with last season.
