Stoke inist they have yet to receive any bid from Celtic for midfielder Liam Lawrence, who has been linked with a £2million switch to Glasgow.[LNB] Celtic have been strongly linked with a move for Lawrence with new boss Neil Lennon making the Republic of Ireland international one of his top summer transfer targets.[LNB]Lawrence has made it clear that he would like to move to Celtic and has called on the two clubs to thrash out a deal for his signature.[LNB]However, Stoke chairman Tony Scholes claims a move is a long way off as Celtic have yet to make an approach for the 28-year-old.[LNB]"The situation with Liam is very simple," said Scholes.[LNB]"We haven't had any formal approach for him.[LNB]"I know Celtic, in particular, have been widely rumoured to be interested in him.[LNB]"The only work there has been through agents - there has been no direct contact between the clubs."
