Match Preview

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to keep their top-four dream alive by snatching another three points at Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.

Harry Redknapp's men hold a single point advantage over fifth-placed Liverpool and his side also have a telling game in hand.

Just one defeat in seven has eased them into contention and three wins on the bounce has instilled further confidence.

A resounding 3-0 success at Wigan Athletic last month and home victories over Everton and Blackburn Rovers in recent times has given the north London outfit a real chance to grab Champions League qualification at the end of the term.

Former forgotten striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is the main man at the moment, hitting seven goals in his last five outings, after sitting in obscurity for much of the season.

Fellow frontman Jermain Defoe has notched 23 times so far and the pair will be looking to further continue their fine scoring exploits at Britannia Stadium.

Tony Pulis' Stoke are made of stern stuff these days and sit in a lofty 11th spot.

They are a huge 12 points away from the drop zone and, with their Premier League status all but secured, they have the chance to go and claim a minor scalp against Spurs.

The Potters have slipped to one defeat - against Arsenal - in their previous ten league games, a fine run that has catapulted up the table, with Rory Delap's long throws causing no end of carnage for opposition defences.

With West Ham United to play next week and Hull City and Wolverhampton Wanderers at the start of April, the Midlands club could further enhance their stock as one of the league's surprise packages.

The visitors could welcome back Jermaine Jenas (groin) but Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Ledley King (thigh), Carlo Cudicini (wrist), David Bentley, Aaron Lennon (pelvis) and Jonathan Woodgate (both groin) are definitely out.
