Match Preview

Stoke City host Swansea at The Britannia Stadium tonight with the Welsh side boosted by their win over bitter rivals Cardiff on Saturday.

Garry Monk's side will be looking for back to back wins under his leadership as they travel to a Stoke side who boast four points from their last two games, but Monk is well aware of the task facing the visitors tonight, his side has won just seven of their 12 away games and scored just eight goals on the way. Monks first game in charge saw The Swans walk out 3-0 victors over Cardiff in the south Wales derby at the weekend and will be hoping to further his winning record tonight.

Mark Hughes' side will be no push overs tonight either after their last outing on home soil saw them walk out 2-1 winner of Champions Manchester United and have lost just two games at The Britannia all season, as well as boasting a win over title chasing Chelsea back in December.

Team News

Stoke could be without Marko Arnautovic and Oussama Assaidi tonight after both players withdrew early from Saturday's draw with Southampton.

Robert Huth still remains on the sidelines whilst Marc Wilson is poised to return from a chest infection whilst Andy Wilkinson and Matthew Etherington continue to push towards a return.

Swansea will be without Jonjo Shelvey as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury but could be boosted by the return of Michu and Marvin Emnes is available after shaking off a hamstring complaint he sustained in Saturday's win over Cardiff.

Stats

Stoke have lost just one of their last nine Premier League home matches while Swansea have lost six of their last nine game away.

Wilfried Bony has scored eight goals in the Premier League this season, but all eight have come in home matches for Swansea.

Charlie Adam has scored in three of his last four Premier League games at the Britannia Stadium. Overall, Adam has either scored or assisted six of Stoke’s last 11 Premier League goals.

Stoke are relying on their home form this season. It is ranked ninth in the league. Their away form is ranked 19.

Prediction

Hughes could give John Guidetti his first start at The Britannia with Assaidi and Arnautovic doubts, the on-loan Man City player could link up well with Peter Crouch.

Swansea have a problem scoring goals away from home, with just two in their last six games and Stoke's defence could make their job tonight a lot harder.
