Maybe they were inspired by the Wealdstone Raider, we don’t know, but tickets for Stoke City’s upcoming clash against QPR are being sold on Groupon.
Stoke aren’t known for a lack of support; in fact, quite the opposite.
A Stoke spokesman told the Stoke Sentinel: “Groupon approached us because they felt they had valuable customer data of people local to the area who had yet to commit their information to our databases, so enabling us to engage with potential new supporters.”
So maybe it’s not a case of “got no fans”, but “need new fans”.
Perhaps Manchester City could take a leaf out of their book…
