Pulis: We believe in Jones
Stoke boss Tony Pulis hailed Kenwyne Jones' return to goalscoring form after the striker set up this afternoon's victory over Everton.
The £8million record signing struck for the first time since November with a powerful header that opened the scoring in a hard-fought 2-0 Barclays Premier League win at the Britannia Stadium.
Everton had a number of opportunities to equalise before Stoke's victory was secured by a Phil Jagielka own goal in the second half.
Trinidad and Tobago forward Jones has had a quiet spell since making an impressive start to his Stoke career but Pulis claims any crowd disquiet was minimal.
Pulis said: "Kenwyne has done smashing in this game. Although his performances may have dipped a little bit, we have great belief in him.
"Playing with two wingers suits him and his goal was a fantastic header. There were a few moans and groans but you get that at most grounds. They were brilliant with him, I'm so pleased for him."
