Pulis: Potters ready to push on
Stoke boss Tony Pulis has consigned his side's losing run to history and is looking forward with confidence.[LNB] The Potters had lost five successive games in all competitions before holding off a Birmingham fightback to claim a 3-2 Premier League victory with a late goal in midweek.[LNB]Avoiding defeat prevented Pulis' men slipping into the bottom three but to maintain the revival they must get a result against an improving Liverpool side at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday night.[LNB]With the likes of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard starting to find form, Pulis could be tempted to play a restrictive game but he insists he is committed to open football.[LNB]Pulis said: "You are always looking to maintain what you have started. We have wiped the sheet clean and are looking to push on.[LNB]"I just hope it is a good game again, as good as it was against Birmingham and as open as it was, and there are lots of goals - but we've got one more than Liverpool when the final whistle blows."[LNB]Pulis accepts, however, that Liverpool could be a tough proposition having finally started to put together a run of results.[LNB]Roy Hodgson's men were in the relegation zone last month but have pulled clear on the back of three successive wins and a midweek draw at Wigan.[LNB]"I watched them on Wednesday and in the first half hour they were back to their best," Pulis said.[LNB]"They played really well and had a couple of chances to make it 2-0.[LNB]"They never did that but for Roy it's three wins and a draw - 10 points out of 12 isn't bad.[LNB]"He will be very pleased with that and will be looking to build on that.[LNB]"They are a good football team, they have got great players and it will be a tough game for us."[LNB]Ricardo Fuller, this week hailed as one of the club's greatest ever players by chairman Peter Coates, hit a stunning goal against Birmingham to underline the strength of his recovery from a shoulder injury.[LNB]But Pulis is now considering resting the Jamaican to ease the pressure on his shoulder and Tuncay, who missed out in midweek, could be recalled.[LNB]Pulis therefore claims it is important that a number of players can contribute in front of goal.[LNB]"I would like to see everybody get more goals," he said. "I'm desperate for all our players to score. We don't want it to be just Kenwyne (Jones), Ricardo or Tunny, or whoever the strikers are. We want to share all the goals.[LNB]"We don't mind how they come, or where they come from, as long as we get one more than the opposition."[LNB]
