Stoke boss Tony Pulis is believed to be lining up a deal for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku to join the Potters on loan.

Pulis has several targets as he looks to further improve his Potters squad ahead of Wednesday's 11pm transfer deadline and Chelsea new-boy Lukaku has emerged as a shock potential new arrival at the Britannia Stadium.

The two clubs are said to be in discussions over a loan deal and reports say the Blues are happy to let the striker leave on a short-term basis as he looks to settle into life in the Premier League following his move from Anderlecht earlier this month.Lukaku made his Chelsea debut as a late substitute against Norwich at the weekend but is likely to be behind Didier Drogba, Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge in the pecking order so could will struggle for regular action at Stamford Bridge.
